Laundry Attendant

Job Summary We are seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented, and reliable Laundry Attendant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that guests' laundry, hotel linen, uniforms, and other laundry items are properly handled, washed, dried, ironed, folded, and stored in accordance with the hotel's quality and hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities Receive, sort, and classify laundry items according to colour, fabric type, and washing requirements. Operate washing machines, dryers, pressing machines, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently. Wash, dry, iron, fold, and package guest laundry, hotel linen, and staff uniforms. Ensure all laundry items are properly handled to prevent damage, loss, or mix-ups. Inspect laundry items for stains, damages, and cleanliness before returning them. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and proper organisation of the laundry area. Monitor laundry supplies and promptly report shortages or equipment faults. Ensure guest laundry is processed and delivered within the stipulated turnaround time. Adhere strictly to hotel hygiene, safety, and operational procedures. Carry out other duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor or Housekeeping Manager. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum of SSCE/WAEC qualification. Previous experience working in a hotel laundry or commercial laundry facility is an added advantage. Basic knowledge of laundry operations, fabric care, and stain removal techniques. Ability to operate laundry equipment. Good attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision. Good communication and teamwork skills. Must be physically fit and willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Personal Attributes: Honest, hardworking, and dependable.
