About the role
Job Overview OBIDA is a design-led fashion and lifestyle brand rooted in West African culture and craftsmanship. As our Fashion Designer, you take garments from first sketch to production-ready tech pack, then bring them to life through styling and photoshoots. You will shape how OBIDA looks and how it is made. Responsibilities Develop garment designs from creative direction, shaping silhouettes, proportions, construction, and detailing. Produce flats and production-ready tech packs with precise measurements, finishes, and trims. Select and source fabrics and trims, negotiating with suppliers on quality, cost, and lead time. Oversee sampling and fit, and approve samples before bulk production begins. Style looks for shoots and lookbooks, and make on-set styling decisions. Track styles, samples, and shoots against the calendar, flagging risks early. Requirements 4-8 years of experience Garment design Technical design and tech packs Fabric and trim knowledge Sourcing and supplier negotiation Sampling and fit Styling and photoshoot execution Commercial awareness Calendar discipline Technical design and tech pack creation Fabric knowledge and garment construction Sampling, fit assessment and quality control Supplier sourcing and negotiation Fashion sketching and design development Costing and design for manufacturability Styling and creative direction for shoots Production calendar and multi-style project management Preferred Qualifications 3D design experience Menswear and accessories design Experience with African print and craft techniques What the Role Offers With proven range and ownership, this role can grow into leading a collection or heading the design function as OBIDA expands into new categories.
